Never in my life did I think I would be in a position to ask for help, let alone create something like this. I’m not one to reach out, especially for something so public. But after everything my boys and I have been through, I’m swallowing my pride and doing it because I truly need support. After thinking things were going to settle down after we endured years of abuse, I found myself renting my first apartment. Let me tell you, the costs are astronomical, with no utilities included. This past year life has been incredibly difficult- financially, physically, emotionally, and mentally. I have been doing my best to budget, but right now, it is just not enough. I have been waiting for help through the HEAP program, and I have been approved since September, but there is not clear timeline for when the funds will come through. It is the only assistance I qualify for as a single mother, and I have been relying on it, hoping it would come through sooner. I am looking for help with 100 gallons of oil, the minimum amount you can get delivered without a fee. Current cost is $3.299 per gallon. My account is through CN Brown in Waterville. Unfortunately, with someone stealing part of my rent money a couple months back forcing me to use my Christmas savings to cover to cost, I do not have that extra money to use. Now, as the weather gets colder, I am struggling to keep the house warm. I am currently keeping the heat at 63 degrees, and we are almost out of oil. I never thought I’d be in a place where I had to ask for help like this, but I honestly don’t know what else to do. Between working full-time, going to college, and trying to be the best parent I can be, it’s all weighing on me. I’m feeling defeated and inadequate, but I know that with this help, I can get through this and get back on track.

I understand times are tough for everyone, and I don’t take asking for help lightly. Every little bit makes a difference, even if you are only able to help a small amount. And if you can’t help, I completely understand.
