My name is Elizabeth, and my parents, George and Lisa, have been married for 31 years. I’m their oldest child. My Dad is a an Army Veteran and retired police officer. My younger brother was born with a heart defect and epilepsy. He works when he’s able and still lives at home. My youngest sister, Emilie, is 23 years old but functions at the level of a 7-year-old. She has autism and a rare chromosome abnormality—she’s one of only eight people in the world known to have it.

My mom is Emilie’s full-time caregiver and, because of that, can’t work a regular job. Emilie is the only one in the household with medical insurance. On top of that, my mom is blind in her left eye and suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure.

Two years ago, my parents moved from Pennsylvania to Texas so that, when the time comes, I can take over Emilie’s care. I had moved here earlier with my husband after finishing my service in the Navy.

Back in Pennsylvania, my dad ran a successful business. Unfortunately, it didn’t take off in Texas. He also became very sick but is slowly recovering. For the past several months, my parents have been doing UberEats deliveries to put food on the table and cover basic bills. My dad and brother alternate between caring for Emilie and driving with my mom.

Right now, they’re two months behind on rent—$4,000 total—and were just given notice that the full amount must be paid by August 10th, or they’ll have three days to vacate. If they can pay, they’ll be granted another month, and they’re actively looking for another place to live. It is hard to find a place if you are evicted. They also need money to get into a place.

Another challenge is that they have five dogs. One is my dad’s PTSD service dog, and three others are legitimate emotional support animals. My dad is currently interviewing for jobs but we have no other options to turn to before eviction happens. Any amount helps and please share.

My parents are the kind of people who will do anything for others. They are strong in their faith and truly believe that the Lord will move this mountain.

If there’s any way you can help—or if you know someone who can—we would be deeply grateful.
Thank y’all so much for all of the support and love, we can never truly express how much this means to us. Money raised over the $5000 will go to moving costs. Please continue to pray.
