Search & Rescue Volunteer and Family in NEED
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Felicita. I am a mom of 4, (3 are under the age of 10), a wife, and I am turning to this community because my family and I need help. We have always been that family that is quick to jump in and offer assistance to our family, friends and community with no questions asked, whenever help is needed. My husband volunteered at ground zero during 9/11, has volunteered to help through multiple fires in our area with the most recent being the Palisades and Eaton fires and has even volunteered doing search and rescue for the missing. We volunteer in our community at our church passing out boxes of donated food and goods for those individuals and families in need. Giving back to the community and helping others is what we as a family love to do.
We thought we were okay because we did not lose anything in the fire and not immediately impacted by the fires however, now landlords and corporations scrambling to leave California real estate market because of increasing insurance rates, we are being forced to move unexpectedly by the homeowner from the place we called our home for the last 6 years. No warning or time to prepare. Due to the wildfires and unscrupulous people, it has made it even more difficult to find a new home to resettle in due to increasing rental rates. We do not have any family that can assist us nor that we can rely on. We are alone and on the verge of homelessness with our 3 young children and 2 dogs which are part of our family. Now it is US that need help. Right now our goal is to find a new home to settle in. If you have made it this far, we thank you for your time and consideration. If you cannot donate because we know times are tough for everyone, if you can please share this.
