My 71 year old father is in dire need of assistance. He has unfortunately been out of work for almost four years due to his back, which has cut his income severely and now only receives social security. Becuase of this, he has been unable to make rent on time and take care of other bills and food. We have tried to pay the back rent, but the rent increase has made it almost impossible. He has received a letter last week stating that he needs to pay back $13,000 within 30 days or they will take him to court. I am currently trying to take out a loan to cover it and we have looked into other avenues such as charities, the Veterans Association, and rental assistance. He is unfortunately on a time crunch and I don't want him to lose his home. As the oldest daughter, I do feel it's my duty to help in any way I can but I am equally (if not more) scared. If there is any way someone can help us that would be great.
