Hi, my name is Courtney Jones, and in the photos, you can see my husband, Kenneth, and son, as well as my father-in-law, Lonnie. Last month, my husband was laid off, and we have been trying to get back up on our feet. Unfortunately, we received a phone call from a family friend that we were not expecting. He stopped by to check on Lonnie because he knew he was under the weather. Upon arrival, he knew something was wrong. He called an ambulance, and Lonnie was taken to the hospital. After a bunch of testing, it looks like he has bladder cancer, but we do not have a full diagnosis. We will be traveling to Virginia Beach from Michigan with our 8-month-old so we can assess and make sound decisions on where to go from here.

With the layoff, we unfortunately do not have our rent together for the month. We are asking for help with getting money together for us to pay rent ($1000) and also costs we need to make when we drive down to VA (gas, food, housing).
