My friend Cath lives in the Philippines, and her mother is in need of heart surgery due to her medical condition called severe triple vessel disease. Triple vessel disease (TVD) is a severe type of coronary artery disease (CAD) that occurs when more than 50% of the heart's three main blood vessels are blocked. It costs about 815,000 Philippine pesos for the surgery and is not cheap(roughly 13k+ dollars in medical bills). But, when is surgery or medical assistance ever cheap?
