Urgent Help Needed for Eliza, Angel, and Family – Displaced and Seeking Shelter
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,
My name is Eliza, and I am reaching out to you today with a plea for urgent assistance for my family. On November 3rd, my 13-year-old son, Angel, my husband, and I were suddenly and unjustly evicted from our rented room in San Marcos, CA, leaving us without a home and facing an incredibly difficult situation.
Angel is an autistic child, and like myself, lives with disabilities. My husband, who is our family's sole provider, has been working tirelessly to support us. We were renting a single room in a Section 8 apartment, paying to be a comprehensive $1300 per month. This amount was meant to cover rent and utilities for our space.
we discovered that the couple we were renting from was charging us for the room the total amount the whole apartments rent cost was . on November 3rd, they demanded my husband pay for utilities, which were a several hundred-dollar electricity bill. We refused, as our $1300 monthly agreement explicitly included utilities. In retaliation, they disconnected the power.
With light utility disconnected My son, Angel, had to shower in cold water for school several days(I took him to clinic because he had severe pain in his chest due to cough and enlarged tonsils ) . Our groceries, purchased for two weeks supply, ended up spoiling because of no utility to maintain refrigeration. When we stood our ground, they threatened us, leaving us no choice but to pack our belongings and leave that very night.
We found ourselves with nowhere to go. I immediately contacted my social worker, but due to the government shutdown, she was not able to get me any funds . My sons school was only able to secure three days of temporary housing at a hotel, which have now expired. We are completely out of money, the last of it was used to pay for extra days at hotels and daily meal. We are struggling to make ends meet, and desperately searching for a safe place to stay.
We are humbly asking for monetary help to cover daily hotel stays while we diligently search for a new room to rent in San Marcos. Every single dollar brings us closer to securing a temporary roof over our heads and provides a glimmer of hope during this traumatic time.
If you have it in your heart and are able to help, please consider contributing. Your generosity would mean the world to us and provide immediate relief and stability for my vulnerable son and family.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion. May God bless you abundantly.
Sincerely,
Eliza
