My dad and mom are struggling mightily and I have no other option but to see if I can get them some help with a GoFund me, something I thought I would never have to do, but after myself, sister an brother, we are left with no choice but to see if we can get some help for them.. Day after Thanksgiving, my mom was placed in Tower Hill Nursing Home in South Elgin, the Dementia floor, she will never leave that floor till she passes away. My dad lost his wife of 55 years, goes every day to see her, she packs her stuff daily to go home, we tell her she is there for rehab, when me and Ania bring boys its Grandma's Hotel. She is still "there enough" mentally to know she hates it, she fights it, takes anger out on my dad, and cries when we leave. My dad drives a special needs bus for Barrington Transportation, pushing 80 up at 430am to drive these kids. Can not work in summer - Nursing Home will take any money, he is right at the limit of any money over ( he makes like 37g a year ) will go directly to N.Home, Medicare rules etc, can't do unemployment, making him pay retro money for before mom got placed on Medicare... His last living family member just passed last week, my Aunt Mary Jo and he to come up with the funeral bill that he had to get CC to pay in Arkansas. I know times are tough for all, the way our entire government handles the elderly is sad and scary. If you can help, thank you, I will have a plan to get him through next summer, God willing ( his work can spread out his checks ). If not please pray for them both..Thanks to all
