Help Fund Historic St. Victor's Roof Repair
Donation protected
The Friends of St. Victor's Catholic Church is a not-for-profit organization with the goal of protecting and restoring our historic church. St. Victor's was built in 1900 in the small gold mining community of Victor, Colorado. It has withstood the weather until this winter when we lost a portion of our roof. We are in dire need of replacing the roof of our church buiding. We received some insurance money, but not enough to replace it to required codes. Our need is $45,000, and we are praying for help to complete this project before the next big snow... which could be in May!
The Friends of St. Victor's has used the building for weddings, funerals, summer tours and other community uses. We received the building from the Colorado Springs Diocese several years ago and have been maintaining it with small donations from our benefactors. Victor is a community of 400 people at the base of Pikes Peak, elevation 9,693. We are a close knit community that always helps each other in times of need. This time our need is greater than our local resources. In addition to getting the roof repaired, we are working on an Historical Designation of the building so we can get access to other funding sources. We appreciate anything you can give!! You can contribute here or send a check to Friends of St. Victor's, P.O. Box 128, Cripple Creek, CO 80813. We can provide a letter proving tax exempt contributions.
Thank you for all your help!
UPDATE: We have received our first $20,000 contribution locally! Thanks for such a wonderful donation!!
