Urgent Need -Venezuelan Family Facing Political Persecution

The current news is hard to miss - Venezuela and the international community are in upheaval over the recent elections held on 07/28. The Opposition Party is protesting and asserts that the announcement of a third term for Maduro is false, but until the dust settles, the actions of a flailing dictator are affecting everyone, including my wife's family, who is still stuck in the country.

Unwarranted arrests/kidnappings of anti-Maduro supporters are being conducted by the Venezuelan government/military/police on a mass scale, with Maduro even boasting about the 1200 "criminals" he's already detained.

The money is being raised to help assist in getting my wife's mother, brother, sister-in-law, and Stefany's three young nephews out of the country to escape government arrest solely because of the support they expressed just by being at the polls this past weekend. Due to travel restrictions, the only way out of the country is a flight that has had a price increase of over 300% in the last 72 hours.

Es difícil omitir las noticias actuales: Venezuela y la comunidad internacional están agitadas durante las recientes elecciones celebradas el 28 de julio. El Partido de la Oposición protesta y afirma que el anuncio de un tercer mandato para Maduro es falso, pero hasta que el polvo se asiente, las acciones de un dictador que se agita están afectando a todos, incluyendo a la familia de mi esposa, que todavía está atrapada en el país.

Los arrestos, secuestros y torturas injustificados de partidarios anti-Maduro están siendo llevados a cabo por el gobierno/militar/policía venezolana a escala masiva, con Maduro incluso alardeando de los 1200 "criminales" que ya ha detenido.

El dinero se está recaudando para ayudar a a la madre, hermano, cuñada, y a los tres sobrinos pequeños de Stefany que escapen del arresto del gobierno únicamente por el apoyo que expresaron sólo al estar a las afueras de salas de votación el pasado fin de semana. Debido a las restricciones de viaje, la única salida del país es un vuelo que ha tenido un aumento de precios de más del 300% en las últimas 72 horas.
