Urgent Emergency Appeal for Kunar, Afghanistan Earthquake

A 6.0 earthquake has struck a remote, mountainous region in Kunar, Afghanistan on August 31, 2025 with initial reports indicating 800 dead and 2,500 injured. Many women and children are amongst the casualties and numbers are set to rise as rescue crews make their way to residents buried under rubble.

Wellness Worldwide for Sustainable Communities, a US 501c3 nonprofit organization serving the eastern Afghanistan region for the past six years, is launching an urgent emergency appeal to aid relief efforts.

We are launching an appeal for $20,000 to provide an emergency medical mobile unit that will deliver emergency medical services to earthquake victims.

Wellness Worldwide has closed its free clinic in Nangarhar Province and dispatched our staff (doctor, nurse, midwife and emergency relief coordinator) to the earthquake zone for this purpose.
