I write to you with a heavy heart to share the tragic news from the southern part of Indian in Wayanad, Kerala. As rescue operations enter day 8, the death toll from the devastating landslides in Wayanad continues to rise. So far, 408 lives have been lost, and nearly 200 people are still missing after the Mundakkai and Chooralmala areas were flattened by torrents of mud and water on Tuesday. https://youtu.be/UTwOU8wIX-g?feature=shared

The situation is dire. The heavy torrential rains have hampered rescue operations, making it incredibly challenging for teams to reach affected areas and locate survivors.

The Government of Kerala is mobilising support from all corners to provide relief and support to the affected people and to reconstruct the three villages that were totally devastated.

How You Can Help!

I am volunteering with Kairali UK in reaching out to everyone in the UK with an urgent plea to help us rebuild and restore hope for these resilient yet vulnerable families.

Our goal is to raise funds to provide rehabilitation to the affected by constructing a new home for families that has lost everything or to donate to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund

Donate: Any amount, big or small, makes a significant difference.

Please join us in Kairali UK’s effort in bringing hope and support to our brothers and sisters in Wayanad. Thank you for your compassion and support.

Yours sincerely,

National committee
