I am raising emergency funds to support an immigrant family facing an extremely urgent situation. As we know, these moments often come with no warning—and families are left with nowhere to turn. I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of the Acuna family who recently received a letter with a court hearing, confirming that they’re at risk of being illegally detained and deported. The Acuna family is from El Salvador, but they’ve built their whole life here in the States. Leaving now would mean losing their home, their jobs, and their community—everything they’ve worked so hard and endlessly for. On top of that, they’re facing major medical and financial challenges. Hugo Acuna is a truck driver, working long hours to support his family. But after a serious back injury, he can now only work about 5 hours a day. Patricia Acuna works long shifts on her feet, juggling 3 different jobs, even though she’s dealing with joint issues and a painful knee injury that once left her unable to walk for a week.

Their daughter, Deysi, has been trying to find work, but her work permit expires soon, and it's difficult to find a job that will hire anyone for just a few months.

We’re raising money to help cover:

• Lawyer and court fees for their immigration case

• Medical expenses for her parents

• Essential living costs
