My 97-year-old grandmother needs some assistance for assisted living costs until I can get her benefits in place.

She has always been very independent and free until she fell and broke her hip in October. She had a successful surgery, but her prior caregivers can no longer care for her. Unfortunately, she needs to move into an assisted living facility and leave her 13-year-old poodle behind, as well as leave her own home of the past 10 years that is not in her name. This is a very hard pill to swallow.

I really do not want to ask for help, but she has run very low on funds over the years and will need some additional income to pay for her assisted living care until I can get her aid through the VA in place. I am also working very diligently to try to get her long-term healthcare insurance reinstated. She got confused around September 2024 and did not make the payment, which she had paid on for nearly 30 years. We will be in a deficit until at least the VA assistance falls into place, so I am asking for any assistance for my grandmother's housing/care cost until we can get everything to come through.
