Our family has experienced a sudden and tragic house fire, and we are reaching out for your urgent support to help my brother, Chris, his wife, Ciara, and their two young daughters, Noa and Gracie, begin the long journey of recovery.
On November 29, 2025, a devastating fire started in their attached garage, quickly spreading and destroying nearly everything they own. We are incredibly thankful that Chris, Ciara, Noa, and Gracie are safe, but the damage to their home and belongings is catastrophic. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation.
The Scale of the Damage
The fire was intense, burning for about two hours before the brave fire departments brought it under control. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department, Gamber, Winfield, Reese, and other units from Carroll County, Baltimore County, and Howard County for their quick response and bravery.
Garage & Vehicles: The fire originated here, completely destroying the foundation and roof, both of their family vehicles, a riding lawnmower, an entire collection of tools, car seats, and so much more.
Main Floor & Guest Room: The fire breached the walls, heavily damaging the main floor and destroying the guest room, closet, and bathroom. This room held precious items, including a baby dresser, bassinet, special rocking chair, adult bed, and a significant amount of baby gear.
Basement: The fire burned through the wall leading to the basement stairs, where they lost couches, TVs, children's toys, and irreplaceable sentimental items like photo albums and family heirlooms. Truly, they lost anything you can imagine—and so much more has been lost that is impossible to name here.
Water & Smoke Damage: The main floor's hardwood flooring and staircase are saturated with fire hose water and debris from the walls. Beyond the destruction, many personal items belonging to Chris and Ciara that were not burned are ruined by extensive smoke damage, including clothing, shoes, important documents, and personal electronics.
Due to the severity of the damage to the home, Chris and Ciara cannot safely move back into their house for at least a year. The entire structure of half of their home requires total repair and rebuilding.
While the insurance company is involved and handling the structural damage and claims process (please, no solicitations regarding insurance), we desperately need immediate funds for urgent family needs that cannot wait.
How Your Donations Will Help Immediately
Your generous donations will go directly toward the most pressing needs for the family as they focus on providing stability for Noa and Gracie:
Urgent Supplies for the Children: Replacing essential items like diapers, car seats, infant and toddler gear, and formula/food. We would also love to ensure Christmas is special for Noa and Gracie this year, despite this disaster.
Transportation: They are currently without any vehicles. Funds are urgently needed to purchase two replacement vehicles, including a larger family SUV to safely transport the children.
Temporary Housing: Securing a safe, comfortable, and stable temporary place to live for the next year while their home is rebuilt.
Replacing Essentials for Chris and Ciara: Helping to replace personal items for Chris and Ciara that were lost to the flames or ruined by irreparable smoke damage, including necessary clothing and work essentials.
We are truly heartbroken by this devastation, but our family's strength and love for one another remains our focus. Family always comes first.
A Request for Privacy
Chris and Ciara need this time to focus entirely on rebuilding their lives and keeping a sense of "normalcy" for Noa and Gracie. We thank you all for your support and kind words, but at this time, Chris and Ciara would prefer all communication and coordination to go through me.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign. Every dollar brings them one step closer to recovery. Thank you for wrapping your arms around our family during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your generosity.
