Urgent Aid for Ahmed's Family in Crisis

My name is Ahmed Abushomar and I am Palestinian, born and raised in Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. I moved to the US when I was 18 and started a family. My daughter is a senior at Oberlin Conservatory, and she was raising funds throughout the ongoing crisis. Due to her bank account closure, I'm posting this GoFundMe to distribute funds to my family in Gaza. My siblings and their children are civilians who have been profoundly affected by the ongoing war and are in great need of humanitarian support. As of May 2024, I have lost fifteen members of my family. I hope to continue to support them financially to cover food, water and shelter.

In the long term, I hope to evacuate my brother, his wife, and three children. Evacuation per person is typically 7,000 USD minus transfer fees.

I have distributed E-SIMS to my brother, sisters and cousins to stay in touch during the heavy bombardment, assault, murder, and displacement they have been experiencing since October 7th, 2023. It is now September and resources (food, water, electricity, internet connectivity, hygiene products, other necessities) have become increasingly scarce. I would like my family members to stay connected, which requires E-SIM renewals and money towards their phone bills.
