Urgent Aid for a High-Risk Pregnancy

Donation protected
Yesterday was too much for words so I’ll simply say, I’m grateful to still be alive, and I’m grateful our baby is still alive and that we are still sharing one body…for now. After an uneventful pregnancy thus far, my heart stopped functioning well on Easter Sunday, and now isn’t tolerating being pregnant at all. I am severely restricted in what movements I’m allowed to take as even a position shift in bed causes massive amounts of stress on my heart and lungs and turns into a rapid response event and emergency medicine to ensure I don’t have a heart attack.

The past 12 hours held the potential to rock our entire families forever in a multitude of ways and I feel incredibly fortunate to still be here and able to give an update. That being said, we are facing some very difficult choices in the near future. To ease some of the potential future choices and give baby the very best chance they have started to prep us for having baby early, as early as late last night. Thankfully, it didn’t go that direction but came uncomfortably close. Steroids and magnesium have been started. We met with a NICU specialist who explained what our baby’s out come would possibly look like if born last night at 26+4 weeks. Our goal is to get us to 28 weeks, at least, but truly we are grateful for another hour at this point.

Our future is uncertain due to so many variables that only the Lord has control over right now so I’m purposefully not ellaborating more, I apologize for this as I realize some of our family members are hearing this information for the first time thru this post. Due to the nature of how serious this all has been we have only been in contact with our most immediate family members. Our children know very limited information, please take that into account and understand that we can’t be available to answer all of the questions THEY might have right now, if any of them reach out, please be very delicate with them.

Please continue to keep us and our families in your thoughts and prayers.
