My name is Elisa Germain and I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Olga Marino, whom I met while volunteering with a local animal welfare group in Guatemala.

Olga may be small in stature, but she has an enormous heart - especially when it comes to caring for animals and her family. She is a devoted single mother and sole provider for five children and one grandchild. Despite working hard, she lives day to day with very limited income and no financial safety net.

Recently, Olga underwent surgery for a serious colorectal condition. Tragically severe complications followed forcing her to endure two additional surgeries within just one week. Her most recent operation resulted in a colostomy. She remains hospitalized and is now facing a long and difficult recovery - both physically and emotionally.

I have created this GoFundMe to help support Olga and her family. It is not just for medical bills, but also to help keep her family going - To help put food on the table, cover basic needs, and to give them a sense of stability while their mother heals.
