Hello, my name is Rosalee, a proud Jamaican woman who grew up in the beautiful countryside of rural Jamaica, where neighbours are like family and community means everything.

Today, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. I am raising funds to rebuild my mother’s small shop, which was completely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. This shop wasn’t just a building, it wasn't just a sorce of income, rather a place where everyone came for rest, a laugh, a warm smile, a drink, food, a word of advice from my mother. She extended her life and livelihood far beyond her family embracing the whole community of Bamboo.

My mother has always been a woman of strength, compassion, and generosity, even when times were tough. Providing not only for her family but overextended herself to help anyone she could.

After the devastation of the hurricane, I know that many donations are reaching the hardest-hit areas of the island and we are greatful as a country, however small rural communities like ours are often overlooked. That’s why I’ve made the decision to reach out personally to ask for help to rebuild the little place that once offered comfort, connection, and hope to so many others.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

Rebuilding the shop structure, repairing walls, roofing, and shelves.

Restocking supplies, food items, household goods, and other essentials.

Securing the shop, installing proper electrical and safety systems to better withstand future storms.

Every pound will help restore not just a building, but her hope, her independence, and the small piece of joy she shared with so many. A woman with a heart of gold deserves that same kindness she has always shown now. Please, help me rebuild my Jamaica one piece at a time.
