Uplift Humanity

This summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Palanpur, India with Uplift Humanity. Uplift Humanity is a nonprofit organization aimed at ending the cycle of juvenile recidivism. Upon arriving there, we were introduced to kids with a wide variety of backgrounds. Some who didn’t have money for their uniforms or school supplies. Some whose families didn’t have money to send their younger siblings to school so would go home and teach them. Some who didn’t even have money to pay for school and therefore, had to work at the facility after hours to compensate. Despite all the hardships they face, they continue to have a great passion to learn and complete their educations. Shilpa still wants to be a grade school teacher in the subject of English. Kaushik still wants to be a court lawyer. Aakash still wants to be a doctor. Everyone has dreams, and so do these children. It only takes $6 to sponsor the education of a child for an entire month, and all the proceeds go directly to them.
