I have spent the last few weeks in Matisi, Kenya with the Daughters of Charity and will be here until mid July. The majority of my time has been with the Upendo Street boys program run by the sisters. It is an amazing project which gives boys aged 10-18 who are homeless, a place to drop-in, wash, eat and participate in informal learning. The boys have been made homeless for various reasons such as neglect, abuse and cultural reasons. The projects staff help sort issues that have caused these boys to end up on the streets and then try and reintegrate them with family members and help them to get back in to full time education. The project site is under reconstruction and the boys are in need of a temporary home to avoid the closure of the project. All proceeds collected here will go directly to the cause. Any donations big or small are greatly appreciated. Cheers, Enda
