Upcott Foster Care Window Fund

Terry and Jennifer Upcott are currently in full time Christian ministry in Maine. They have three biological children. About two years ago, they felt called of the Lord to go into foster care with the intent to adopt if the child/children placed with them became available. After praying and seeking Godly advice, they pursued foster parent training.  James 1:27 which says, " Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To help the fatherless and widows in their affliction...", touched their hearts. A newborn baby girl was placed in their care the day after they were licensed in June, 2015, further cementing the leading of God in their minds and hearts. After almost two years the Upcotts were finally able to complete the adoption of this beautiful baby girl. As they moved from foster parents to pre-adoptive parents the birth mother was found to be pregnant again, and this baby was placed with the Upcotts as well. They have had the second baby for just over seven months, and are looking at having to renew their foster-care license in order to be a permanancy option for this little girl, should her birth mother be unable to complete reunification. The renewal required a new inspection from the Maine State Fire Marshall's Office.  At that inspection it was found that the new windows that were installed did not meet current fire codes for foster homes.  The Upcotts do not have the money to replace five windows of the size that are required to meet fire codes.  The replacement of these windows is all that is necessary for the Upcotts to be re-licensed as a permancy option for this little girl.  Thank you does not begin to express the feelings for any who are moved to help the Upcotts give this baby a safe and stable home to live in.
