Der Fall von Viola, einer trans Frau aus Linz, die nach einer mutmaßlichen Vergewaltigung Hilfe gesucht hat, aber in zwei Krankenhäusern weitergeschickt wurde, zeigt, was strukturell schiefläuft. Neben den seelischen und körperlichen Folgen kommen nun auch Verfahren auf Viola zu, die große finanzielle und emotionale Belastungen mit sich bringen.

Wir möchten Viola in dieser Zeit nicht allein lassen.

Mit eurer Spende unterstützen wir Viola dabei, diese traumatische Zeit zu bewältigen. Das Geld soll helfen, die anstehenden Verfahren durchzustehen, unter anderem durch die Deckung von Anwält*innen- und Verfahrenskosten, notwendige Unterstützung und Versorgung zu finanzieren und vor allem Viola Sicherheit und Stabilität zu bieten.

Warum dieses Thema so wichtig ist?

Trans, inter und nicht-binäre (TIN) Personen erleben überdurchschnittlich oft sexualisierte und queerfeindliche Gewalt. Danach finden sie zu selten Schutz, Glauben und Unterstützung. Wer in einem System zurechtkommen muss, das nicht für alle gleichermaßen zugänglich ist, braucht ein Netz, das trägt. Wir wollen Teil dieses Netzes sein.

Warum starten wir eine neue Kampagne?

Eine erste Spendenaktion musste aus Sicherheitsgründen beendet werden. Zum Schutz von Viola führen wir die Sammlung nun als Verein Catcalls of Linz weiter. Ein großes Dankeschön an alle, die bereits gespendet haben.

Transparenz

Alle Spenden kommen Viola zugute. Sollte mehr Geld zusammenkommen, als benötigt wird, fließt der Rest in Projekte des Opferschutzes bei sexualisierter Gewalt, mit Schwerpunkt auf trans, inter und nicht-binären Personen.

Diese Spendenkampagne wird vom Verein CatcallsofLinz organisiert. Die Spenden werden zweckgebunden für Viola verwendet, insbesondere für Verfahrens- und Anwält*innenkosten sowie notwendige Unterstützung und Versorgung. Wird das Spendenziel nicht erreicht, werden alle eingegangenen Mittel ebenfalls für diesen Zweck eingesetzt. Über Überschüsse entscheidet der Vorstand im Sinne des Opferschutzes bei sexualisierter Gewalt, insbesondere für trans, inter und nicht-binäre Personen. Spenden sind nicht steuerlich absetzbar. Diese Informationen werden mit Violas ausdrücklicher Zustimmung veröffentlicht.

Viola, a trans woman from Linz, was looking for help after an alleged rape but two hospitals rejected her. This is not an isolated case, but a structural problem. Viola is already dealing with the mental and physical repercussions following the alleged assault but is now also facing legal procedures which have emotional and financial consequences as well. We want to support Viola in this trying time.

Your donation directly supports Viola in dealing with this. The money will go towards attorney and other legal fees as well as direct support, care and most importantly: Viola’s security and stability.

Why is this topic so important?

Trans, inter and non-binary persons experience sexualized and anti-queer violence at disproportionately high rates. More often than not it is hard to find adequate security and support, often they are not believed. When the systems in place don’t work for everybody equally, a safety net is needed for those who “fall through the cracks”. We want to be part of this net.

Why are we starting a new fundraiser?

The first campaign had to be taken down due to safety concerns. In order to ensure Viola’s safety, we – Catcalls of Linz – are now continuing the call for donations. Thank you to everybody who already donated!

Transparency

All the donations are going towards Viola. If we the donation goal is exceeded, the surplus will go towards projects working in victim protection in cases of sexualized violence, with a focus on trans, inter and non-binary persons.

This fundraising campaign is organized by the association Catcalls of Linz. The donations are earmarked for Viola and will be used specifically to cover legal and attorney fees, as well as necessary support and care. If the fundraising target is not reached, all funds received will likewise be used for this purpose. Any surplus funds will be allocated by the board in accordance with the purpose of protecting victims of sexualized violence, with particular consideration given to trans, intersex, and non-binary persons.
