Get Jeff Epstein Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Records

Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was accused of running a underage sex trafficking ring. The public never learned the truth about Epstein's behavior, as then United States Attorney Alexander Acosta declined to prosecute him. State court prosecutors gave Epstein a sweetheart deal. He never did any real time.
Some have speculated that Epstein had damaging information on others in powerful positions.
Prosecutors choose to protect their friends instead of the children.
On January 19, 2017 Cernovich Media sought to unseal records involving Jeffrey Epstein. We filed what's called a Motion to Intervene and Unseal Records (hereinafter the "lawsuit") in case No. 15-cv-7433.
Politico reported on the lawsuit :
"In recent months, the suit attracted the attention of Mike Cernovich, who intervened in the case in an unsuccessful push to release a large volume of blacked-out court filings. 'I want to know what’s really going on and we can’t get it,' Cernovich told POLITICO."
The federal judge denied our motion, issuing a ruling that ignored well-established law.
We filed an appeal, and the case is pending before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals (Case No. 16-3945).
Our lawsuit had storng merits, and the judge ignored well-establishing First Amendment principles when denying our motion.
The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press filed a brief in support of my motion. On their website, they summarized their filing thusly:
"Michael Cernovich sought access to certain sealed judicial records.... The amicus brief argues, among other things, that the district court's order permitting the sealing is contrary to the First Amendment and common law presumptions of access, and there are no compelling or countervailing interests justifying sealing in this case."
The amicus brief (which you may read here) was joined by over 18 media outlets and non-profit groups, including:
- American Society of News Editors,
- Associated Press,
- Daily News,
- Society of Professional Journalists,
- Tully Center for Free Speech.
I put up $10,000 of my own money in this lawsuit to find out.
It has cost considerably more.
100% of all money will go to legal fees for this case, which my lawyers are handling at a reduced fee, and I'll share all billing records with backers.
