Unpaid family Carers in Enfield

Since September 2024, I’ve been on a journey to become a healthier, happier version of myself. It started with a commitment to regular gym sessions, and after months of dedication, I’m proud to share that I’ve hit my first big milestone: I’ve lost 4 stone as of May 2025.

Now, I’m ready to push myself further. This November, I’ll be taking on one of my biggest challenges yet; running a 5K 22nd November 2025 6pm The Supernova 5K route at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park starts at the magical setting of the ArcelorMittal Orbit. I’m not a natural runner, so this is a huge step outside my comfort zone, but I won’t be doing it alone. My husband Alex will be running alongside me, offering support and encouragement.

I’ve decided to use this opportunity to raise money and awareness for a cause very close to my heart: Enfield Carers Centre. I’ve worked at the Centre for 10 years, and during that time, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges faced by families every day.

Many carers put their own health and happiness last, dedicating themselves to looking after a loved one with a disability or illness.

By running this 5K, I’m hoping to raise funds to support respite breaks and social activities, small opportunities for people who rarely get to put themselves first to just relax and be themselves for a while. In this way, I am hoping that my aim of being happier and healthier can, to some degree, rub off on others as a result.

If you’d kindly like to support me in achieving these aims , please could you make a small donation to help spur me to get wearing out my running shoes!

Many thanks and good health.
