Unite for Amarillo consists of a diverse coalition of Amarillo citizens who recognize the need to return to our pioneer roots to protect and improve our city.
We understand that our infrastructure and public safety need more upkeep than we are currently providing and that responsible investment in our future is the only way to keep us competitive and relevant.
Many of our city streets are in disrepair and we don’t have money in the budget to fix them. Furthermore, our current property tax rate, which is among the lowest in the state, does not cover one-half of our police and fire budget.
Why Amarillo needs to vote for Props 1-7
-To improve city streets, traffic and aging infrastructure
-To increase police and firefighter protection for our city
-To attract more events, jobs and sales tax revenue to our city
Propositions 1 – 7 will address essential city services and ensure Amarillo stays competitive as a great place to raise a family and find a great job.
