Hi Everyone,

My name is Niome Sanchez. I’m 26 years old, currently a mom of 1 and will soon be a mom of 2. Unfortunately, I recently found out that my job will not be paying me for the days I will be out for maternity leave. The maternity leave will be 10 weeks without any pay.

Never did I think that I would receive such news when I was told in the beginning that I would get the same benefits as a full timer when being pregnant. However, I work part time only because my job hasn’t had an opening position for full-time in the field that I particularly working in. I am a mother of already a 2 1/2 year old with a baby coming soon. Due date is June 25, 2021. This news has come upon me harder than I could ever imagine. I’m closing on a house around the time that I will have my baby and now with a house and no income I’m just at a loss for words.

My husband can only cover as much as he can but without me getting my portion of income it will be quite difficult on my family. I am not one to ask for help and it is truly something that I get very shy about bringing up or talking about but anything will help. Any contributions will help myself and my family to pay bills and things I would need for the baby when I am on my leave.
