Our dear friend Luis Mata (43) passed away on January 16, 2023, due to COVID. Like so many during this time, we are devastated for his wife Amanda Warner Mata and their children son, Keaten (16), son Kalvin (14) and daughter Kalissa (12). Luis was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2021. After a year of undergoing an extensive everyday process to overcome this battle Luis and Amanda were finally at some sort of peace. They received news that Luis had beaten his year-long battle with leukemia. With the exciting news, there was hope that things would go back to normal. Luis was ready to get back to work as the successful hard-working Engineer we all knew him to be. This excited him as he was the sole provider for his family. His family was the most important thing to him and his priority was making sure Amanda would be able to raise their children. He made sure she had the stability she needed to be a great mother to his children and take care of their household. Here's this supportive and loving family who thought the worst was behind them. Unfortunately, this was not the case! Luis tested positive for COVID and the unthinkable happened. COVID was not a virus his body was strong enough to fight. After what was the hardest year now his family is faced with picking up all the pieces without him. He was a loving and remarkable husband and father. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a stand-up guy who was well respected! We are asking for help to ensure that the financial burden can be alleviated for his family. He left behind a beautiful family who deserves to grieve in peace without all of the added stress. Any donations will be greatly appreciated from all who'd wish to contribute.
