Unemployment Relief for Svetlana Markowicz

We, the crew of Trader Joe's #544 Murray Hill, are fundraising for one of our Mates, Svetlana Markowicz, who was unexpectedly & unjustly fired on Thursday, June 23rd. Sveta is an exceptional mate who regularly went above and beyond in her service to her crew. She was incredibly kind and caring, and demonstrated a genuine loyalty to the crew—something that other management figures failed to do on a regular basis. She was widely praised by a majority of the crew in her upstream review this year in recognition of these qualities. However, she was terminated unexpectedly, without receiving any form of disciplinary write-up or formal verbal warning before her termination. We, the crew, hold this termination to be unjust, and in violation of the principles at the heart of the Trader Joe's Core Values. Sveta's firing demonstrates an utter lack of recognition on the company's part of the singular Mate who perhaps most fully embodied the qualities of Integrity, No Bureaucracy, and Kaizen.
