Donation protected
Kirrae Whurrong Elder, Uncle Leonard 'Lenny' Clarke, invites you to his community at Framlingham for a very special family day and concert on 29 September in support of the Yes campaign for the upcoming referendum on October 14.
Uncle Lenny will conduct a welcome to country at 10.30am, followed by music, face painting and story time for the kids, coffee and an opportunity to spend time on beautiful country. At 12pm we will visit the grave of Lenny's father, Uncle Banjo Clarke, and Lenny will share some of his many stories. The concert will start at 1pm emceed by former candidate for Wannon, Alex Dyson and Indigenous Officer at the Australian Worker’s Union, Guyson Baker. We will have speeches by Uncle Lenny and local author, Jock Serong and will be featuring local and well known artists including Shane Howard, Neil Murray, David Arden, David Bridie, Boorook, Lee Morgan, the Voices for Yes choir, Owen Ellemor, Tom Richardson, Billy Barker and Sophia Whitney, Lynny Mast, Jimmy Cowabunga and the Bonnie Upwelling, Bruce Campbell and the CommonGround, Andy Alberts and the Walkabouts, Ben Witham and the Betty Band and more! This positive, family friendly event will show the immense community support behind the Voice.
Concerts like this are not cheap to put on, so we are seeking donations from members of the community to help cover costs such as the marquee, stage, AV hire, public liability insurance, accommodation for out of town performers, toilets, a generator and more.
Any donations big or small would be greatly appreciated! All funds will be donated directly to Uncle Lenny's registered charity, the Shara Clarke Cultural and Education Centre.
