This is Uncle Bear.
He’s 79 years old, developmentally disabled (has difficulty reading and writing), and is confined to a wheelchair. Recently, Uncle Bear has fallen behind on his rent at the local assisted-living facility and is facing eviction.
Several weeks ago, a Michigan judge appointed a legal guardian for Uncle Bear to help him manage his affairs and so that he can avoid this kind of predicament in the future.
Uncle Bear has also received a generous grant from a local senior citizens foundation and, by month's end, expects to receive a MiChoice (Medicaid) waiver to help him cover his monthly expenses going forward.
But for now, Uncle Bear desperately needs our help catching up on his rent or else he'll be forced to move.
Uncle Bear likes it where he is (American House in Roseville, Michigan) and is in no shape to move.
If you can, please donate to help Uncle Bear stave off eviction. And please help us spread the word.
Uncle Bear needs our help now more than ever.
Sincerely,
Dave Mesrey
