The Unboxables Charity Boxing Event – Fighting for a Cause
Every year, the Unboxables event in Ellesmere Port brings the community together for a powerful cause through an exciting charity boxing night—raising money for both national and local charities.
This year, on Saturday 9th August, male and female competitors will step into the ring after completing an 8-week training camp, all in support of causes close to the hearts of many in the local area.
Charities We’re Supporting in 2025:
Suicide Prevention UK
Suicide Prevention UK provides vital, life-saving support to individuals in crisis through helplines, community patrols, education, and awareness campaigns. Their volunteer-led approach offers real-time intervention and long-term advocacy for mental health and suicide prevention.
This year’s support for Suicide Prevention UK is especially meaningful following the tragic loss of Joe Lovell—a much-loved former amateur and professional boxer who represented Deva Boxing Academy in Chester. Joe trained and sparred at Wirral CP and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
️ The Hospice of the Good Shepherd
Based in Backford, The Hospice of the Good Shepherd offers free, specialist palliative care to individuals and families across Chester, Ellesmere Port, and surrounding areas. Their services include inpatient care, outpatient clinics, bereavement support, home visits, and holistic therapies—all delivered with compassion and dignity.
The hospice provided incredible care for Stevie Foulkes, a former Wirral CP volunteer, during his final weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. This year, we honour his memory by supporting the place that supported him.
Supporting Mason Allan
We’re also raising funds for Mason Allan, a brave local youngster recently diagnosed with leukaemia. Mason is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and the support we raise will help ease the burden on him and his family during this difficult journey.
Join Us – Fight for More Than Just Glory
This event is about more than boxing. It’s about community, resilience, and standing together in the face of adversity. Every punch thrown and every penny raised will help change lives.
Event Date: Saturday, 9th August
Location: Ellesmere Port Civic Hall
