Unbox the Science: DIY Science Kits for Students

Hi, my name is Orzala, and I’m a high school student in Fremont , California. I’ve always loved science—especially hands-on experiments like biology labs. I’m raising funds to create affordable DNA extraction kits for students. Many schools don’t have enough lab equipment for every student to participate fully. I want to give more students the chance to experience real science, explore genetics, and get excited about learning—no matter what resources their school has.

What Inspired This Project:
I was inspired by my experience studying in two different countries. In my previous school, science equipment was new, accessible, and we worked in pairs, which made the labs engaging and fun.
When I moved to the U.S., I noticed a huge difference. As a student at a Title I high school, I realized the equipment was older, limited, and often shared among large groups. This made labs less interactive and harder for everyone to fully experience.
Instead of letting that discourage me, I wanted to find a creative solution. That’s when I came up with the idea of designing simple, exciting, and accessible science kits. My goal is to inspire students to explore science—whether they’re discovering it for the first time or already passionate about it. I believe that curiosity should guide students in science, not the availability of equipment.

My love for science comes from two main reasons. First, I've wanted to become a doctor since I was little. I used to take apart my toys and "Perform surgery" on them, pretending to sew them back together - I've had a passion for biology and understanding how the body works since then.
Second, I love science because it helps me understand how everything in the world works, from the smallest parts to the largest systems. It's fascinating to see how every piece connects and functions.

How Your Donations Will Help:
All donations will go directly toward purchasing the materials needed to build these DNA extraction kits—including safe chemicals, test tubes, pipettes, containers, and instructions designed for classroom use.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Every contribution helps create more kits for classrooms with limited resources.
Share This Campaign: Spreading the word helps reach more students who can benefit.
Tell a Teacher or School: Connecting this project with educators expands its impact.
Offer Advice or Support: Anyone with experience in science or education can help guide the project.

This Is Just the Beginning
In the future, I hope to expand this project to include even more hands-on science kits, so students everywhere can explore, experiment, and fall in love with science—without limits. Thank you so much for supporting my project and helping bring science to more students!
Note: The money will be transferred to Aimal Ahmady, which I will use to buy equipment for the kits. Since I am not 18 years old or older I am unable to transfer the money to my bank account.
