#UnaChivaParaLosPanas nace en el año 2018 como un pequeño prototipo de ayuda social creado por dos amigas venezolanas, Isayen Herrera, periodista viviendo en Venezuela e Yvannova Nuñez, psicólogo humanista viviendo en Miami.
Hemos sido amigas desde hace 20 años y siempre hemos compartido nuestro amor por el país, la lucha por su libertad y por aportar nuestro granito de arena. Crecimos viendo a nuestras familias unir esfuerzos para apoyar a las comunidades más vulnerables de nuestra comunidad en Los Teques. Presenciamos de primera mano cómo el esfuerzo de pequeños grupos de personas se puede traducir en algo de gran impacto social.
Desde el año 2017 — viviendo ya cada una en países distintos, pero aún compartiendo la preocupación por nuestro país y por las dificultades que enfrentan todos los días los venezolanos— nos empezamos a preguntar cómo podríamos organizarnos para crear alguna iniciativa de aporte social.
Por esta razón, en el año 2018 decidimos comenzar con #UnaChivaParaLosPanas. La idea era servir de puente entre nuestra diáspora y amigos en el exterior con ganas de ayudar y nuestras comunidades en Venezuela con necesidad de ayuda producto de la crisis. Y la propuesta es muy simple: aprovechar el fin de año para invitar a amigos y conocidos en Miami a hacer limpieza de closet y donar esa ropa y zapatos fuera de uso para permitirles "estrenar" algo durante las fiestas decembrinas.
Ese diciembre de 2018 recolectamos 10 cajas de ropa y zapatos en buen estado. Los enviamos a Venezuela por correo marítimo y dos semanas después, Isa y su familia se unieron a la Iglesia en su comunidad y organizaron un "guardarropa comunitario" con el que 150 personas lograron tener al menos una prenda de ropa "nueva".
En 2019 lo volvimos a hacer. Esta vez con más voluntarios tanto en Miami como en Venezuela. Gracias a su apoyo pudimos enviar 18 cajas. Ese año 500 personas de la comunidad El Peñón en San Diego de los Altos (Venezuela) se beneficiaron de la iniciativa y gracias a las alianzas que hicimos con otras fundaciones, pudimos organizar una muy linda jornada con pintacaritas, chequeos médicos. y cuentacuentos.
Este año pensamos que no podríamos recolectar muchas donaciones debido a la pandemia, pero nuestros amigos y los amigos de nuestros amigos nos han sorprendido con su gran generosidad y creemos que podemos romper nuestro propio récord.
Por ese motivo hemos creado esta campaña con la intención de recolectar los fondos suficientes para costear el almacenaje y envío marítimo.
Para nosotros es muy importante la transparencia, así que aquí te explicamos cómo serán manejados los fondos dado que #UnaChivaParaLosPanas no tiene una cuenta bancaria asociada:
1. Todos los fondos colectados a través de esta campaña de Gofundme serán enviados a mi cuenta bancaria (Yvannova Nunez).
2. De mi cuenta personal, haremos el pago correspondiente a la empresa de envíos marítimos Global Sales & Cargo LLC, quien se encarga de que todas las donaciones (ropa y zapatos recolectados) viajen de forma segura de Miami a Venezuela.
3. Si llegara a haber algún remanente de fondos, estos serán utilizados para comprar mascarillas, gel antibacterial y guantes para los voluntarios en Venezuela.

#UnaChivaParaLosPanas emerged in 2018 as a small prototype of social aid created by two Venezuelan friends, Isayen Herrera, a journalist living in Venezuela and Yvannova Nuñez, a humanistic psychologist living in Miami.
We have been friends for 20 years and we have always shared our love for our country, the fight for its freedom and the desire for contributing and giving back. We grew up watching our families join forces to support the most vulnerable communities in our hometown of Los Teques. We witnessed first-hand how the effort of small groups of people can translate into something of great social impact.
Since 2017 - when we were already living in different countries, but still sharing our concern for our country and for the difficulties Venezuelans face every day - we began to wonder how we could join forces to create some social contribution initiative.
For this reason, in 2018 we decided to start with #UnaChivaParaLosPanas. The idea was to serve as a bridge between our diaspora and friends abroad who want to help and our communities in Venezuela in need of help as a result of the crisis. The proposal is very simple: invite our friends and acquaintances in Miami to clean their closets and donate clothes and shoes to offer an opportunity to our people in Venezuela to receive a piece of "new" clothing or shoes during the holiday season.
That December of 2018 we collected 10 boxes of clothes and shoes in good condition. We shipped them to Venezuela and two weeks later, Isa and her family got together with the Church in her community and organized a "community wardrobe" with which 150 people managed to have at least one item of "new" clothing.
In 2019 we did it again. This time with more volunteers both in Miami and Venezuela. Thanks to their support, we were able to send 18 boxes. That year 500 people from the El Peñón community in San Diego de los Altos (Venezuela) benefited from the initiative and thanks to the alliances we made with other foundations, we were able to host a nice event with face painting, storytelling and medical check-ups in addition to the “community wardrobe”.
Although this year we were under the impression that we would not be able to collect many donations due to the pandemic, our friends and the friends of our friends have surprised us with their great generosity and we believe we can break our own record.
Therefore, we have created this campaign with the intention of collecting funds to pay for storage and shipping.
Transparency is very important to us, so please read below how the funds will be handled since #UnaChivaParaLosPanas does not have an associated bank account:
1. All funds collected through this Gofundme campaign will be sent to my bank account (Yvannova Nunez).
2. From my personal account, we will make the corresponding payment to the shipping company Global Sales & Cargo LLC, which ensures that all donations (collected clothing and shoes) travel safely from Miami to Venezuela.
3. If there are any remaining funds, these will be used to purchase face-masks, hand sanitizers and gloves for the volunteers in Venezuela.
