Ciao a tutti, siamo Tiziana e John, abitiamo a Stra un paese in provincia di Venezia e facciamo parte della Rete per la Pace della Riviera del Brenta, alla quale aderiscono alcune Amministrazioni Comunali, Associazioni della Società Civile (Libera, Scout, e collabora con la diocesi di Venezia). L’anno scorso abbiamo ospitato, nell’ambito del progetto accoglienza 2024 della Rete, una giovane ragazza palestinese, Raffaeila proveniente da Beit Sahour, una località della Cisgiordania.

Ci raccontato della sua vita e della famiglia, della quotidianità delle relazioni con le autorità israeliane, fatta di incertezza, posti di blocco, violenze gratuite.

La sua esperienza da noi le ha consentito di prendere una “boccata di ossigeno” e di vivere una normalità che, per lei ragazza adolescente, è negata nei territori occupati. Da quella “boccata di ossigeno” è nata una amicizia anche con la famiglia, con cui ci sentiamo regolarmente.

Questa estate abbiamo proposto alla famiglia di ospitare Rafaeila e Khader suo fratello piu’ piccolo per una vacanza di due settimane a casa nostra. Per poter fargli vivere il mare, la montagna, la Bellezza dell’arte per tornare a casa con una speranza in piu’ nel cuore.

Vi chiediamo una mano per coprire parte delle spese del viaggio (visti, ass. sanitaria, voli). Se supereremo l’obbiettivo, il resto lo doneremo alla Rete per la Pace Riviera del Brenta per il progetto di accoglienza di settembre 2025 (60 ragazzi in arrivo da Ucraina e Palestina).

A ray of sunshine a 1300 USD project

Hello everybody.

We are Tiziana and John (if we are contacting you probably already know us or you know good friend of our). We live in Stra, a town in the province of Venice, and we're part of the Riviera del Brenta Rete Pace network. which also includes certain municipal administrations non-government civil associations (Libero, Scouting and a collaboration with the Diocese of Venice). Last year, through the Networks’ 2024 Welcome Project, we hosted Raffaella, a young Catholic Palestinian girl from Beit Sahauor. a town near Bethlehem on the West Bank. She told us about her and her family’s’ life, of everyday life with Israeli authorities. made of uncertainty, checkpoints and unjustified violence.

Her experience with us allowed her to take a “breath of fresh air” and live a normal life, which has been denied to an adolescent girl in the occupied territories. Through this “breath of fresh air” a friendship has also grown between us and her family, with whom we remain in contact frequently

This year we're proposing that our family host Raffaela and Khader, her younger brother, for a two-week vacation at our home. This will allow them to experience the seashore, the mountains and the beauty of art and return home with a little more hope in their hearts.

We are asking for a hand to help cover the cost of their travel expenses, (visas. health insurance and airline tickets). If we go over our goal, all remaining funds will be donated to the Pace Riviera del Brenta Network for their September 2025 project welcoming 60 children arriving from Ukraine and Palestine.
