In the heart of Petilia Policastro, there is a little alleyway that now tells a different story — a story of care, beauty, and love for our community.

Thanks to the dedication and passion of Giuseppe Caruso and Manuela Arminio, this small corner of the town has been beautifully restored and transformed into a space that catches the eye, sparks curiosity, and brings a smile to everyone who walks through it. It is proof that, even starting with something as simple as a small alleyway, we can enhance our community and restore beauty and dignity to spaces that belong to everyone.

Manuela’s idea led to the creation of a small free library with more than 6,000 books, collected from all over the world and made available to everyone. Inspired by her example, four more small libraries have been opened in other small towns across Calabria, receiving hundreds of donated books along the way.

Giuseppe’s hopscotch has become a place where children and adults come together to play. His murals have transformed this corner of the town into a space filled with stories and emotion. One of his murals was named among the six most moving murals in the world, and recently, his book “A Small Town Is Not What You See, A Small Town Is How You Live It” was also presented in New York, bringing the story of Petilia — and the stories of small towns and their communities — across the ocean.

Now we want to take the next step.

Through this fundraising campaign, we want to continue caring for and developing the alleyway, helping to cover the costs of decorations, materials, maintenance, and new improvements that will make it even more welcoming and inspiring.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. By donating, you are directly supporting this project and helping make Petilia Policastro even more beautiful.

This alleyway is more than just a street: it is a place of connection, culture, creativity, and community. A small corner capable of telling the story of our town and of the people who dedicate their time and passion to making it a better place.

Help us grow this project. Support the alleyway restored by Giuseppe Caruso and play your part in preserving and enhancing this special corner of Petilia Policastro.

Every donation is a small gesture that leaves a lasting mark.
