Help Umoja Coworking & incubator

Umoja Coworking was founded in 2020 and changed its name and structure to Umoja Coworking and Incubator in 2021. Umoja is a coworking and business services space dedicated to empowering underrepresented entrepreneurs by supporting culture, collaboration, community and events. Umoja is Swahili for unity and embodies what our buildings main goal is. To build from within, empower those most in need, and remind people t be proud of who they are and where they come from and give back. Buy back the block! Understand culture and business go hand in hand.

 

We launched in 2020, and offer coworking space, access to resources and experts who can help entrepreneurs grow their business and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs. We are now venturing into phase two of this space and are seeking to enhance our current services. New or expanded services will include language access services, more offices, meeting space, resources, a relax room, and on-site childcare (open in the evening and on weekends) for building users.

 

We purposely built this space in a diverse and historically underserved community to show people that innovation and success can happen anywhere! Neighborhoods like mountain view are the pulse of our city, with business owners from all walks of life. So let's work together to bring culture, business, and innovation together under one roof.

 

Join us in building an inclusive, grassroots, and community-first space that will empower all. All contributions will assist with the development of this Alaskan-founded nonprofit located in our new home at 3001 porcupine drive in Anchorage. There is still so much work to be done and although we have some great partners making it happen and have accomplished a lot we are still not quite to our financial goal for program development and capital improvements.
