Support Alex's Journey to a Brighter Future

Never in my life did I think I would be writing this, nor did I think I’d get to the point I’d have to be vulnerable enough to put it out there after facing it in silence for some time, but here I am.

For those that know my son Alex, know he is a smart, handsome, outgoing, and respectful young man. He fills rooms with so much joy, and you're guaranteed a great laugh if ever blessed with his presence. When it was time for Alex to go to high school, the decision was made that New York was not the best option. As hard as it was for me, I respected his choice of wanting to go to school in Florida.

While there, Alex was faced with troubling situations. His reaction to these situations has resulted in a juvenile detention center. His probation officer at the time was supposed to assist Alex in getting put into programs needed to better his choices moving forward and help with how he reacts in certain situations, but the system failed him. His probation officer barely checked in on him, never enrolled him in the requested programs, and is currently facing DUI charges. If he did his part, my son would have been home by now but is instead facing additional time. This is NOT where Alex needs to be. He has an amazing, loving family on both sides that will support him through this journey. He has siblings that look up to him, and he has never even got the opportunity to meet his new sister with this occurring.

I reach out to all our friends and family to help bring my baby home! He has one more year left of high school and so many dreams to chase. While his father and I have already put up funding, we need additional help in getting Alex better representation and hopefully a better outcome than the one currently being offered.
