Hi my name is Nicola. Many of our nearest and dearest and some friends currently know our situation with our son and always at this time have been extremely supportive and continued to care and keep us in their thoughts. We are extremely grateful for this and grateful to have you all around us.

A little back story… our son lives in Portugal and last April we went to visit so we can all be together. Our son a very healthy outgoing young man. Very involved with sports and fitness with extreme amounts of dedication and focus and drive started to experience pain in his stomach and back. He continued to put this down to the strong fitness regime and martial arts he was currently doing. At the time I noticed a hoarse type cough especially on our family meals there. In September 2024 with his pain increasing and him finding it very difficult to move, etc, he was advised to go to A&E there. What happened next just blew us out of the water. After many tests and scans. He was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Following September he has started two rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and have had the primary cause of cancer located and surgically removed. He is is excessive amounts of pain still very weak and has Metastasis growing in both lungs as well as the lymph nodes. His lymphatic system is backed up also causing less detoxification to happen and increasing pain.

Medical bills there are quite different to here and although we have a great oncology team trying to help him, as you can imagine this is our son and we want to do whatever we can to help him.

We have found two great hospitals that can offer him different alternative treatments as well as conventional with very promising results and testimonies from many patients.

Myself and my husband were trying hard to save whatever we could to assist and with a joint replacement coming up for me this month and now out of work for the foreseeable. This has put now a very big setback to our plans to help him more than we originally planned.

The funds raised will be used to help us visit more as a family at this time, for him to get the correct treatment protocols and additional therapies that will assist his pain and comfort. To allow him to enjoy certain trips out of the house and have some normality best he can and to be able to spend more time with his siblings.

I’ve set a goal low to start as we don’t really know how this will be and although we are devastated we know the bills will begin to get more frequent.
