I’m raising money in memory of my mam, Julie Birkbeck for the PSP Association.

My mam suffered with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). CBD is a rare brain disease, for which there is no treatment or cure. With your help we can continue to fund vital research into the causes, treatment and eventual cure.

After a five-year battle with this cruel illness my mam passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2025. In the weeks and days leading up to that moment she defied every expectation the doctors gave her and fought with an incredible strength, surrounded at all times by the love of her family. She was a true fighter!

To honour her memory, I want to test myself by taking on a physical challenge: an ultramarathon. Through this, I hope to raise vital funds for PSPA and help support others who are living with, or caring for someone with the same illness.
