Ukrainian war refugees - little Emma and her mom

My name is Iryna Bortnytska. I would like to raise money my family in Ukraine. My son’s Alex family - his wife and a little daughter 5 years old had to flee Kyiv after the bombardment of the city started. It took about 10 hours to drive (distance of about 350 mi) to our native city of Lviv to get to the safety.

My elderly mother, 93 is in Lviv. She has dementia and had caregivers helping her 24/7 since last month. Due to the war caregivers stopped coming - martial law and curfew. My son brought his daughter and wife to the Polish border. The wait to cross the border was over 27 hours.

Little Emma and her mother Yulia are on the way to US now. They will stay with me. Alex joined territorial defense in the city of Lviv, and takes care of my mom (his grandma) when he is at home - not patrolling the city. Obviously, he has no income now.

I live in a two bedroom apartment. The space is really very tight to accommodate Yulia and Emma. We are looking for help with lodging.
