Medical Mission Relief

As most of you know, my heart is in the medical field and for as long as I’ve wanted to be a nurse/NP, I’ve wanted to do relief medicine in the places hit hardest when those moments arise. I think the only constant in my life over the past year amid my mid life/identity crises was the pull to serve within that community in whatever capacity I can (and work out those minor details like getting my degree and such later). This will be my first medical mission, and as much as I try to do everything independently, I have to ask for help this time. (Insert Tom Cruise “help me help you” moment). I’ve felt a pull toward Ukraine since the conflict started, so when I saw this opportunity open, I couldn’t get it off my mind. I realize that one week in the grand scheme isn’t much help, but I’m hoping this experience can provide me with the knowledge and resources to find the means to do far more in the future.

Each of you has been my friend, family, counselor, life raft, drinking buddy, the list happily goes on and on, so I hope it isn’t too imposing to ask for help in this capacity. I’ll never be offended if you’re not able to help financially. Any donation will solely go to the mission and International Medical Relief organization. The cost of the mission covers only the aid supplies and safe lodging. Excluded expenses include airfare, travel expenses inside the country, meals, personal aid supplies, etc. Details are outlined in the organization’s link below.
