Ukraine Appeal - Supplies for Mums and Babies
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
My name is Nadine and for 8 years, I have worked in a maternity unit at the local hospital. When the awful war in Ukraine broke out, a huge humanitarian crisis ensued. Among the huge loss of life, another crisis emerged in Poland where many refugees seeking shelter from the war went. With so many individuals heading over the border, there has been a real shortage of supplies in the area supporting predominantly mothers and children, with the men staying behind to fight.
Through contacts from my role in the health board, we've been made aware of a community hub in Wroclaw, south-west poland. This centre has become a support hub for women and children fleeing ukraine, striking a cord with myself and many of my colleagues working in the maternity unit, but they are rapidly running out of supplies.
Myself and my husband Keith have formulated a plan. We will be driving a rental van at the end of April, courtesy of our friends in Maben Vehicle Hire, to this centre to deliver essential supplies that will make a huge impact to the people there. Our contact working in the area working around the clock with the displaced families, has sent through a list of things that will make an incredible difference to the mothers and babies at this centre.
Although any and all donations would be hugely appreciated, we have set this page up to receive monetary donations to contribute to the costs of taking the supplies over. Although Keith and Myself will be funding as much as we can, we need help to purchase the targeted list of supplies that has been sent to us from our contact that is in the middle of this crisis.
We understand times are hard, but these people are facing unimaginable difficulty, having left their homes and country to seek refuge from a terrible war. No matter how small, we feel this will have a big impact on this community, please feel free to donate as much or as little as you can to support this supply mission.
Thank you so much
