The United Kingdom and Eire Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC) is the umbrella body of Malaysian Students Societies in the universities across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. With over 79 Malaysian Societies as its constituent members, UKEC serves as an integral platform representing the collective interests of over 16,000 Malaysian students in the UK and Ireland.
Projek Lumina 2025, is a student-led initiative under UKECares and in collaboration with Small Changes, dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities in Malaysia through sustainable, long-term efforts. “Lumina”, meaning illuminate in Latin, reflects our mission to bring hope, opportunity, and meaningful change to those who need it most.
This year, we’re organising a one-day workshop for high school students in rural Malaysia. Our goal is to empower these students with the tools for academic and personal growth while inspiring them to become changemakers in their own communities. Through guided sessions and hands-on activities, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive impact that lasts well beyond the workshop.
Each student will receive a custom-designed guidebook covering essential life skills, including:
- Academic Tracking
- Financial Literacy
- Critical Thinking
- Emotional Intelligence
- Confidence Building
Just RM10 is enough to print and deliver one guidebook to a student. Your donation, no matter the size, helps us fund materials, logistics, and the tools needed to run this workshop effectively.
With your support, we can reach more students, ignite more dreams, and build a future where every young person has the chance to shine.
As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of donors to help us continue our work and make a positive impact in our community.
For any concerns or questions, please direct them to Amirah Mardhiah Abu Bakar, UKEC Vice-Chairperson of UKECares Office 24/25.
