Hi I’m Rey, an Endometriosis patient and advocate. Myself along side a consortium of other UK advocates put a call out to the community for their stories with supporting evidence to illustrate that they needed 2nd opinions (sometimes more) with regards to their illness.

The aim of this project is to pull together these stories in an organised report to show the vast disparity in knowledge, support, skill and treatment pathways in our medical practitioners across the UK.

This is not about calling out any individual practitioner, rather calling in all orgs involved in the various touch points on the path to care where education and up-skilling is required. Harm to patients not withstanding, the pressure on the system is increased when knowledge and skill in practitioners is low resulting in multiple often unnecessary procedures (causing untold physical and mental trauma) for patients. When patients aren’t given accurate information on their options informed consent is removed.

I am now in the final stages of pulling this together and need your help! Below is a break down of costs, the printing being an estimate as the document is in its final stages of completion.

2 versions of the document will be printed. One reduced for an event at Parliament and the full version for slamming on desks!

Printing and postage estimate: £1626

Based on a quote of approx:

50 full copies £717

Postage x 50 = £252.50 (sml package 1st class signed)

Plus postage to stores location approx £50

100 reduced copies £576.60

Plus postage to even location approx £30

Whilst a digital copy of the covering letters will be sent to the intended recipients (a mix of MPs, NHS heads and other relevant orgs), it’s important that the weight of this document (literally and figuratively) isn’t ignored.
