My name is Jessica. I am creating this go fund me on behalf of my Mom, Rebecca Nyaga. On March 12th, Rebecca suffered a life altering event and fractured her neck in three places as well as suffered a spinal cord injury. She underwent surgery on the 13th to relieve the pressure on her spinal cord and had screws placed to stabilize her neck. She transferred to Mary Freebed a few days ago to begin intense therapy to try and restore her previous function. She may tentatively be home by April 11th and her home is not accessible for her condition. These funds will help build a ramp for her home, make the necessary changes inside her home, provide her with adaptive devices and clothing, and also help to support my adult brother who has autism and lives in the home. We do not anticipate that she will be able to walk by the time she comes home and she also has limited to no use of her hands.
