Since we started, Stanly Avengers have identified and worked towards numerous development opportunities in Stanly County, including beautification projects and efforts. Stanly Avengers meet monthly to strategize on these various goals and tasks.

We play a crucial role in connecting community members, business owners, service-providing organizations, and elected officials in the region. We also serve as an essential watchdog for the community by attending city council and school board meetings, analyzing local budgets, and encouraging community participation in local events.

Want to join Stanly Avengers, Incorporated and support an initiative to uplift and share the story of the historically black neighborhood Kingville in Stanly County with "THE KINGVILLE PROJECT"?

Beginning in the 1920s, African American youth in Albemarle, NC, attended Kingsville School, one of many Rosenwald Funded schools in North Carolina. Without Stanly Avengers, the history of Kingville, the Kingville School, Kingville Park, Dr. Ogden King and the African American community’s heritage in Stanly County could be at risk.

Stanly Avengers, Inc. is doing the vital work of preserving and sharing that legacy with current and future residents of Stanly County. Stanly Avengers, Inc. is raising money to fund and erect Historical Preservation markers throughout Kingville and Stanly County.

Through THE KINGVILLE PROJECT we plan to organize events for community members to convene, organize, celebrate, and connect with other regional organizations with similar goals with our 3-phase agenda: CONSERVATION, PRESERVATION, and CELEBRATION.

Organized quarterly cleanup campaigns partnering with the City of Albemarle and its Public Works Department's Director, Ross Holshouser, to scale the Adopt-A-Street program. We began a quarterly Adopt-A-Street Community Cleanup campaign in April '22, had another in July '22 and continued through October '22, partnering with other non-profits, businesses, schools, families and leaders. We started with one street and now have families, businesses, schools and a local record label that has adopted nine roadways and counting. The cleanup campaign aims to get volunteers to want to Adopt-A-Street in honor of their community, family or civic organization and commit to cleaning it up every three months. Together the community is developing a fellowship stimulating a new sense of pride while working together toward a common cause of beautifying the neighborhood.

Raise capital funds to erect Historical Preservation Markers for notable historic schools, parks, communities and people. Stanly Avengers, Inc. is partnered with the City of Albemarle's Planning Specialist, Brittani McClendon, to abide by legal specifications and placement of markers. Stanly Avengers are looking to erect ten monuments throughout Stanly County. There will be six markers for The Rosenwald Schools located in Kingville, New London, Oakboro, Porter, Norwood & Cottonville. The other signs will honor the Kingville Community, Kingville Park, Kingville School & Dr. Ogden King. This will reboot community pride and unity between the young and old.

Fund and dedicate an event with vendors, resources, games, music and education, honoring the collaborative efforts of community leaders, organizations and citizens past and present striving to build a better future for all involved with the "125th YEAR KINGVILLE CELEBRATION."

Raising funds for supplies, historical markers, and the celebration event is essential to "THE KINGVILLE PROJECT."

We're asking that you donate and partner with Stanly Avengers, Inc. to preserve, conserve, and celebrate the history of Stanly County!

10 MARKERS * $2000 = $20,000
