Hi friends and family,
Those of you closest to Kassandra and myself know the kind of people we are. You know we’re the kind who give even when we can’t afford to, show up when someone needs help, and usually avoid asking for anything in return. Honestly, asking for help like this doesn’t come easy. You also know that for too long our lives had gotten out of control and become unmanageable.
On March 3rd, 2025, we made a commitment to rebuilding our lives.
In the last 11 months, Kassandra and I have completed three recovery programs. The people we met along the way shared with us their experience, strength, and hope. We will never forget the incredible individuals who gave us the tools we needed to regain control of our lives — and keep it.
We are coming up on one full year of recovery. We’ve worked incredibly hard to change our lives, our mindset, and our future. We soaked up everything that was offered to us and recently returned to our hometown to start fresh and create a stable, healthy foundation for our family.
We have two big dogs who have been by our side through everything, and we are expecting our baby boy on March 23rd. Becoming parents has strengthened our commitment to staying sober, present, and responsible — not just for ourselves, but for our growing family.
While we’ve come a long way, there are still a few remaining obstacles tied to our past life that we can’t move past without some support.
What We’re Asking For
To fully regain independence and stability, we are working to cover the final steps needed to move forward:
$500 for one year of SR-22 insurance
$50 for DMV driver’s license reinstatement
$2,000 for a reliable used truck we’ve already found
Smog and registration fees
Having my license reinstated and reliable transportation will allow me to work consistently, support my family, attend appointments and recovery meetings, and begin working toward my long-term goal of earning a Class A commercial driver’s license. Most importantly, it allows us to be dependable and present for our son and for the life we are building together.
This isn’t about convenience — it’s about accountability, responsibility, and stability. We’ve done the hard internal work, and now we’re asking for help with the final practical pieces that allow us to stand fully on our own.
If you know us, you know we wouldn’t ask unless it truly mattered. Any support — whether that’s a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or simply offering encouragement — means more than we can express.
Thank you for believing in growth, second chances, and the life we are working so hard to build.
With love and gratitude,
Kassandra & Matthew
