Up’s and downs plague us all when it comes to health, but our beloved Claire has had serious struggles as of late!
Claire was recently diagnosed with Crohns disease which is an inflammatory condition of the digestive tract and is considered an autoimmune disease.
This new diagnosis has led to endless Dr visits, testing, and prescriptions that just keep on coming. Recently, Claire spent 3 straight weeks in St Paul’s hospital and she was unable to eat solid food for over a full month. Her vision has also been seriously impaired. The underling crohns condition has led to other complications such as arthritis, uvuitis, and cataracts.
Claire is now home and is trying her best to navigate this whole unfortunate situation. Here’s a breakdown of that situation…
Claire will need:
The medication Entyvid (which she is to receive intravenously) the cost for a single dose of this medication is between $3300-$4800. (Yes you heard me right) Her Dr has recommended that at least two doses be given. She will also need the shingrix vaccine which costs $380.
The above costs do not include her daily medications she has been prescribed nor do they include her living expenses. (Which we all know are NOT cheap nowadays) Please keep in mind that due to the inconsistent and painful nature of her disorder she is unable to work at this time. This has proven to be a very stressful time in Claire’s life.
If you donate to “Claire’s Cause” the funds will primarily be used to assist with the hefty medication costs listed above. Your donations are greatly appreciated and hopefully will also assist Claire with everyday living expenses.
We are urgently calling on some financial support from the community to help Claire get into remission in hopes that she can move forward in her life in a smoother manner.
Thank you kindly,
Nicole
