Seeking donations for those in need of food during the Government shut down.

VA residents have been particularly hard hit by loss of federal jobs, the shut down, and eliminantion of basic benefits, like food. In VA there are 120,000 active military affected by the shut down. 850,000 people are on SNAP, more than 300,000 of those are children. Many of these adult recipients work or have been recently laid off. SNAP is already partially cut off. Between layoffs, working without pay during the shut down, and the loss of SNAP benefits, food banks are already overwhlemed.

Donations will go towards buying dry goods, non-perishables, hygiene products, and pet food to be dropped at The Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center in Chesterfield, VA.
